I spent a fantastic Christmas back home in Leeds and on family recommendation tried to get to see the intricate and original papercuts and screenprints by Pippa Dyrlaga from Bear Follows Cat at the Fabrication shop in the Light, Leeds. But ultimately failed with all the festivities taking place while I was at home. So I have looked her up online and bitterly wish I had managed to see her stuff in real life.

Mayor Of London, Wonder, Incredible Installations - Gift from the Olympic Gods Shot Put
I have noticed as I have been out and about in London this summer that there are some incredible installations for the Olympic Games, Giant shot puts, Giant javelins and Giant bow and arrows.

For its debut issue of TWELV Magazine, Hissa Igarashi and Sayuri Marakumi created an Alexander McQueen-inspired dress made entirely out of gummy bears.
A few months ago what caught my attention on the news was a mystery knitter who attached a 50-yard-long scarf featuring woollen athletes to Saltburn pier. It had a dramatic effect as this huge creation of beautifully knitted athletic figures appeared overnight. What was wonderful about it was that it delighted young and old alike as the town discussed the piece and it also drew more people/tourists to the seaside resort to see it. It was great to see such positive hype over the upcoming Olympics.
