Film Africa is back! The 2012 Celebration of African Cinema Begins this Week

We've been working with the Film Africa team at the Royal African Society and SOAS for the past few months and we're excited that the festival is finally here! Launching this Thursday, you can expect another 10 days of amazing African films (70 of them!), as well as 35 leading filmmakers offering Q&As, free professional workshops and 9 African music nights.

Why Google Has Oodles Of Doodles & some favourites

In a recent issue of Creative Review, John Loyd discussed Google's ability to be both a global and local brand through its own tampering of the 'brand'. As a designer I always try and encourage clients to stick to 'the brand'. But I feel Google successfully established their initial brand and marketed it to the world in such a strong way that I feel that these playful variations does add the quality of showing Google as a local brand.

We've been real busy over the past couple of months, developing the identity, website and communications materials for Film Africa 2011. There are only 2 weeks left until the London festival begins and along with being really happy to be a part of such a great programme, we're really excited about watching as many of the films as we can!

Diasporan Darlings

Diasporan Darlings is a website dedicated to Africans living in the Diaspora. With articles about life, love and work in the Diaspora, the site shares experiences and showcases successes that will inspire and empower. Above all, the site, launched in June, is already creating a vibrant community and network. Asilia had the pleasure of working with the founders to create a logo and complementary graphics for Diasporan Darlings.

Asilia new work and projects in progress

There's been no easing into 2011 for us. We've had a great number of enquiries and exciting new commissions that are keeping us super busy.
